Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.
Students are provided with the opportunity to live out their faith through outreach activities that build a Catholic community and reach out to those in need. Group activities exist for students to engage in the act of service with Mini Vinnies, CARE, St Vincent de Paul’s Winter Appeal and Caritas’ Project Compassion. We annually host a Salesian Outreach Service (SOS) Day that brings together the entire school community to fundraise and support a local charity or cause, seeing a tremendous display of generosity and goodwill. Year 6 students are also offered the opportunity to participate in the Pope Francis Award Program in which they engage in twenty hours of ministry within the school and parish.
